AgentData vs MoltSets: the free, global data layer your agent can use today
MoltSets sells flat-rate US contact data to AI agents from $27 a month and has the right idea: no seats, no credits, an MCP server. As of 17 September 2026 it is also in closed beta with wave admission, US-only with EMEA “aimed for” by the end of Q3, capped at 5,000 to 1.125 million requests per five hours depending on plan, and offers no refunds. AgentData is live for anyone, covers companies worldwide from their own websites, adds the tech stack and switch signals no contact vendor has, and costs $0 with no card at 1,000 lookups a day. Every MoltSets figure here is from moltsets.com on 16–17 September 2026.
The verdict
- need an account today, not a place in a beta wave
- sell to, or research, companies outside the US
- want your agent to know what a company runs (tech stack) and when it changed tools
- want public company and technology pages your team can browse, not just an API
- want free to mean 1,000 lookups a day, not 1,000 records ever
- need carrier-verified US mobile numbers at flat rates (10 to 250 tokens included, $0.20 extra)
- run high-volume US contact enrichment in bursts that suit five-hour windows
- want a 20+ vendor waterfall behind every US person lookup
- are already in the RB2B ecosystem

One company, two responses
MoltSets' API documentation is not publicly reachable as of 17 September 2026 (docs.moltsets.com does not resolve; moltsets.com/docs returns 404; access is inside the beta console), so we can't show its response shape and won't guess. Its site describes verified business and personal email APIs, a carrier-verified mobile API, people and company search, email validation, and an MCP server at mcp.moltsets.com/mcp with account authorisation. Below is what AgentData returns for one company.

MoltSets' contact depth on US companies will usually exceed ours because it falls back to 20+ external vendors when its own database misses. Our contacts come from our own crawl.

Pricing: AgentData vs MoltSets
MoltSets is flat-rate with request windows. The calculator shows what a monthly volume needs on MoltSets, and that the answer here is $0.
You keep at least $324/yr with AgentData at this volume.
MoltSets prices and limits from moltsets.com/pricing, 16 September 2026. Requests are capped per 5-hour window and weekly under its Fair Use Policy, so this assumes smooth usage; bursty usage needs a higher tier sooner. Business $397 (750,000 per window) and Enterprise $997 (1.125M per window) exist above the slider. Mobile tokens: 10 / 10 / 50 / 150 / 250 by plan, extra at $0.20 each.
MoltSets pricing since launch
- June 2026 (RB2B newsletter): beta “next week”; pricing framed as flat-rate.
- July–August 2026: pricing changed three times before beta (RB2B newsletter, 31 Jul and 8 Aug issues); $150k ARR pre-sold, waitlist over 5,000.
- 24–29 August 2026: beta users live, wave-based admission.
- 16 September 2026 (live page): Free $0 (1k lifetime), Starter $27, Professional $97, Business $397, Enterprise $997; mobile tokens 10/10/50/150/250; extra $0.20; no refunds; flat files contact sales.
- Third-party pages are already stale: one competitor's comparison lists a $497 top tier and $0.25 phones; a July review lists a “Pro” at 1,000 requests per minute. Neither matches the live page.
- AgentData: $19 / $49 / $99 specced April 2026, never launched; free since May 2026.

Who moves from MoltSets to AgentData
MoltSets has nothing for your market until at least Q4 2026, by its own FAQ. AgentData profiled your ICP from their websites already.
You wanted to ship this week. AgentData issues a key at signup.
“Companies that added Intercom last quarter and run HubSpot” is a query here and impossible on a contacts-only API.
Switching from MoltSets
- Export what you've enriched. Pull your enriched records from wherever MoltSets wrote them (Clay table, n8n store, your DB). Keep the domain column.
- Re-enrich by domain in AgentData via /api/v1/lookup or the MCP lookup_company tool; you gain the profile, stack and signals, and you'll see which emails we verify.
- Keep MoltSets for US mobiles if you need them. No refunds means don't cancel mid-cycle; let it lapse.

Where MoltSets fits better
- US phone-led outbound. Carrier-verified mobiles at flat rates is a real, differentiated offer. We don't do phones.
- US contact depth. A 20+ vendor waterfall will surface more named people at a US mid-market company than our crawl.
- Burst enrichment. 50,000 records on a Monday and nothing Tuesday fits five-hour windows better than a daily cap.
- RB2B users. Same team, designed to sit alongside.
We would rather you pick the right tool than ours for the wrong reasons.
